Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Bluebirds Fly………
But what happens if you can’t even see the rainbow yet and have absolutely
NO CLUE
how far away it is.
Where did the rainbow go??
Is it around the next corner? Or the next?  Or how about the next??
Who runs the rainbow machine??
We are running this never-ending marathon to the rainbow with Audrey.
Bless her heart she must be tired by now.
Nobody can tell us how long this marathon is.
Maybe we’ve got 1 mile to go.
Maybe we’ve got 26.
Maybe it’s 2,976 miles, or more.
We just don’t know.

It rains along the road to the rainbow.
It snows.
Sometimes the wind blows you back from any progress you’ve made.
The crowd gets smaller and smaller as we continue our path.
It’s so easy to put your running shoes up and give in.
This week has been a series of backing out’s of facilities/people who shall remain nameless.
Morale is a bit low.
So today the focus needs to be, nay has to be……. Requires….. focusing on the others.

To those of you who haven’t given up.
Who peep through the closed windows and lock doors we run into along the way.
Who put your jogging shoes on with us even though the rules are unclear.
Who haven’t turned your backs when it got hard, even though you didn’t know where we were going to go next.
Who walk through our door and try again…
And again…
And again…
And again…
 Thank You.
We'll keep moving.
We'll keep searching
We'll keep jogging along.
Because….
Somewhere over the rainbow……
Audrey will fly.

Bookworm

A Bit of Me
You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me. ~C.S. Lewis

If any of you venture over to read my profile you will eventually run into the tid-bit that I love to read.

L-O-V-E to read.

There is hardly anything that compares to a good book.

For those of you still hanging in this conversation now that I have revealed it is about books, (obviously per title) let's chat.

For some, I am well aware, this is absolutely not your thing.

That's cool.

Sort of.

I mean I could recommend something to try.

You should really try.

But really if not, it's fine.

Totally fine.

But there really is so much in a good book.

If my house were burning to the ground the order of things to save goes like this:

1. My family
(b/c I haven't totally lost it)

2. My mother's painting

And then

3. My books

As many as I could muster before it burned to the ground.

I keep books all over the place.  Stacks and stacks of them.

They are here:

And over there

And tucked away here:

I think I have made my point. ;)

These are my favorites. EVER!!

Some of you may notice that three of them are written by the same author.

Chaim Potok.

He is POWERFUL.
He is not lazy day reading material.  He is put your thinking cap on stuff.

 But man..... Man.... Man.... Man.
He is soooo worth it.

If you have never read Chaim (we are on a first name basis) you should.

Do.

Pretty Pretty please do.

The Chosen is a little easier read.
My Name is Asher Lev is a little deeper.

OK, a lot deeper, but worth the effort.

If someone were ever to ask me the cliche question: if you could have one conversation with one famous person living or not, who would it be...

Anyone care to ask??

Anyone??

Oh good, thank you for asking. ;) it would hands down be Mr. Potok.
I would love to pic his brain. Well, not literally, figuratively.
He is a genius of life.
On just how to BE human
How we are as humans.
How we FEEL

And Leo Tolstoy (see War and Peace above) is a master story teller.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak I hold so close to my heart.
Read it. You'll love it.

Currently I am attempting this:

And on deck is this:

Why do I love books so much?
Because of this

 There is nothing sweeter.

What do you read??

PS-  if any of you have read  William Faulkner's novels and have ANY CLUE what he is saying or trying to say, please help me.  I beg of you.
Thank you. ;)
