Sick babies, multiple trips to the pharmacy, plans falling through, snow in the middle of March, cranky kids, a cranky mom, a juror summons, KU lost,
KSU lost, Wichita State lost, etc.....
So it was Wednesday.
More of the same.
We needed a reset.
Let's forget the last few days.
Start this week over right in the middle.
So we did.
Start with a boy and a brownie mix.
Insert as many ingredients as you want.
Whipped cream or M&M's or butterscotch sauce, or cherries, or more chocolate.
You pick.
Dump what you want. It's all yours.
The essential ingredient is really the coveted elephant bowl.
Audrey's favorite part. I mean, I knew that would happen. So whatever. Maggie ate most of them before I could sweep them up anyway. ;)
Add a movie. With a pack of kids under a blanket tent and you have yourself a successful reset.
Where is Audrey during this pic you ask??
Right here. Where she always is for pictures. ;)
All better.
Because everybody needs a Wednesday sometimes.

Las Vegas!! As seen from a mother of five :)
You guessed it.
We went to Vegas about two weeks ago.
I had never been before.
Michael has been multiple times.
I'm not really sure what has happened on those trips.
Probably best not to know. :)
We haven't really been anywhere since the twins were born
that didn't include taking all the children with us.
So this was an opportunity to get away for a while.
It took nearly a weeks worth of cleaning and re-cleaning
the house.
Three days of laundry and packing.
And three separate baby-sitters for the kids.
Watching five kids for four days all ages eight and under is something
that is hard to get one single household to agree to.
No really sure why..... :)
After all the bags were packed and all the
children were at their respective baby-sitters
we woke up bright and early for a 7:30 flight to Vegas.
I did not know the KCK airport could be so BUSY!!
The lines for check-in were literally out the door.
We were a little nervous we hadn't left early enough.
But, we made it.
Thank goodness.
Soooo.....what did I think of Vegas??
Vegas taught me one thing for sure.
I am not longer, what shall I say......
a youngin'.
I have somewhere along the line
transitioned into an old lady.
I think I said
"What in the world is that girl wearing?!?!"
More times than I ever have in my whole life combined.
Holy
Cow.
So from an old ladies perspective,
It was nice to say I've been there.
It was even nicer to get away.
But I left the night-life to the people who aren't tired at 9:30 every night.
(Honestly, it's probably more like 8:30)
What we did:
We stayed here.
The Paris Hotel and Casino.
It was pretty cool.
We had a view of the Eiffel Tower right out our hotel window.
As close as I've gotten to the real thing to this point. :)
I ate this:
Lots and lots of this.
:)
Whenever Michael said "I'm going to the casino"
I said "I'm going to the bakery"
Seriously.
I haven't weighed myself since we came home
It's best that way. :)
No need to ruin it with the scale.
There were these girls
Pretty much everywhere.
These were the cleanest, most covered girls
in the neighborhood.
We saw this:
KA
Cirque de Soleil
This was the highlight of the trip for me.
It was pretty amazing.
Very inventive.
A few of the graphics took my breath
away and gave me goose-bumps.
And there was this:
Even looking at these pictures makes my stomach a little queasy.
:)
It's a pretty crazy view from up top the Hoover Dam.
Just don't look down.
It was nice to get away for awhile.
But sure nice to be home with my kiddos too.
The time changed three times on us in four days,
so we were a little jet-lagged, but it was worth it.
Thank you to everyone who watch our kids or
helped make the trip happen.
Viva Las Vegas!
